Pink Confetti

There’s something magical about a play well performed. People change on both sides of the stage. A connection between the words spoken, the pains felt and the ideas left behind is formed.

A simple poster was all that was required of me. For a play called 'Pink Confetti' written by a close friend to be read in a small but packed room in a bar in London.

I knew the subject matter already and my main instruction was "it must hint at violence and the aftermath".

The image of a giant grasping hand emerging from a cracked chair filled my thoughts. 'Red Hand' is also the nickname of one of the characters.

The design hinted at the plot, the danger, the violence and the fragile thread of events.

Bodoni was used for the lettering, mimicing political papers of the period in Belfast.
